- dependencies match upstream [1]
- upgrade to 3.7.7
- remove string indexing which is a bashism [2]
- pure python package so development files are not required
- setuptools is a runtime dependency because scripts in /usr/bin/ use
  'from pkg_resources import load_entry_point' [3]
