# Alpine 2.7.0 released
We are pleased to announce Alpine Linux 2.7.0, the first release in v2.7 stable series.
Since v2.6, among the various bugfixes, several packages have been upgraded:
- kernel is based on 3.10.18
- php 5.5.5
- qemu 1.6.1
- xen 4.3.1
- postgresql 9.3.1
- samba 4.1.0
- nsd 4.0.0
- asterisk-11.6.0
- bluez 5.7
- openssh 6.4p1
- lua 5.2.2
Some of the desktop applications that got upgraded and are available for v2.7:
- abiword 3.0.0
- firefox 25.0
- gnumeric 1.12.8
- evince 3.10
- virt-manager 0.10.0
